SKT101 | Foundations A | Mon + Wed | 11:45am-1:15pmInstructorsRon Lemen & Sterling HundleyCOURSE DESCRIPTIONAs the birth place of artistic ideas, the sketchbook is where the creative person develops their own unique point of view. In this highly informative class, students begin to fine tune their ability to communicate through their art. The sketchbook class illustrates the importance of personal idea exploration, and provides a safe place to make mistakes and explore content, and, naturally, to practice their skills. This class is geared toward students who wish to have a wide variety of abilities to design, compose, and create from life, reference, and imagination. This is one of the single most important classes TAD offers and is mandatory for all students enrolled full-time. Learning ObjectivesTo effectively utilize the sketchbook to develop through process individual point of view and personal exploration. To coalesce abstract concepts into communicable visual solutions. Students also learn to use a sketchbook for observational drawing and visual journalism. Learning OutcomesStudents will learn to identify and explore their own personal voice through visual journalism and problem solving. Course RequirementsStudents will be issued a syllabus that will list the goals, projected outcomes, grading system, and any other resources the instructor deems necessary. |
All TAD classes include live demonstrations, thought provoking lectures, relevant presentations, instructor and peer feedback and critique, with a conscious effort made for content appropriate for artists of all skill levels and trades, and applicable to the freelance artist as well as the corporate visual communicator.
All TAD classes are streamed live and then available 24 hours a day to students On Demand, enabling a fully flexible schedule for viewing the classes and getting the direct and personal feedback required to be successful. Live classes are scheduled according to Central Standard Time (CST), adjusted for Daylight Savings Time (CDT) during the summer months.
