MED101 | Foundations A | Tues + Thurs | 10Am-1pmInstructorJohn EnglishCOURSE DESCRIPTIONMedia I covers a multitude of media type, including graphite, charcoal, oil, watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, chalk, pastel, conté, Photoshop, Painter 11, Sketch-up, and pen & ink. TAD encourages versatility by studying many forms of media, and the development of abilities applicable to many purposes. Each media discussed is demonstrated as much focus is spent on technique and process. Wet, dry, and digital media processes are explored, shared, and developed during this valuable class. Learning ObjectivesTo give students a functional way to visually articulate their ideas and concepts. Through demonstration and example students will learn to apply multiple mediums. Beginning with simple dry media, charcoal, graphite and then progressing to wet and digital media. Learning OutcomesTo give students the ability to effectively apply materials. During the course the students will be shown how to use traditional materials charcoal, graphite, pen and ink, water color, oils. With the understanding of the traditional materials students will be better equipped to understand digital painting. Course RequirementsStudents will be issued a syllabus that will list the goals, projected outcomes, grading system, and any other resources the instructor deems necessary. |
All TAD classes include live demonstrations, thought provoking lectures, relevant presentations, instructor and peer feedback and critique, with a conscious effort made for content appropriate for artists of all skill levels and trades, and applicable to the freelance artist as well as the corporate visual communicator.
All TAD classes are streamed live and then available 24 hours a day to students On Demand, enabling a fully flexible schedule for viewing the classes and getting the direct and personal feedback required to be successful. Live classes are scheduled according to Central Standard Time (CST), adjusted for Daylight Savings Time (CDT) during the summer months.
