This key class covers the essential fundamentals for shooting photographic reference with a strong focus on proper lighting of subject matter for mood and information gathering. Students will be given experienced recommendations regarding the best methods for creating their own reference library and materials utilizing digital photography. A variety of lighting fundamentals will be covered, as well as what is needed to create a professional body of work that includes images from real life. Learning ObjectivesThrough effective photography, students can reference visual information specific to current assignments as an aid to visual solutions. Using the camera as an informational resource to assist in the process of visual development. Using lighting to create mood and to visually explain objects in space. Composition, staging and posing of models and scenes. As well as how to properly record/curate one’s own work. Learning OutcomesGives students the skills to effectively develop visual digital resources to aid their exploration of their personal visual point of view, as well as record and observe the world about them. They will learn how to comply with industry standards for digital cataloguing and dissemination of their work. |
All TAD classes include live demonstrations, thought provoking lectures, relevant presentations, instructor and peer feedback and critique, with a conscious effort made for content appropriate for artists of all skill levels and trades, and applicable to the freelance artist as well as the corporate visual communicator.
