Francis Vallejo

Francis Vallejo was raised on the Eastside of Detroit, Michigan - a peculiar but influential city in his development. He moved to Sarasota, Florida to study at the Ringling College of Art + Design. Francis began studying computer animation, but found himself in illustration. Additional instruction was had while attending two sessions of the exceptional Illustration Academy. He is currently based in Austin, TX,  and serves as POD leader at The Art Department's Austin location. Along with his own projects, Francis assists in the operation of this studio/classroom, listens to a lot of hip-hop and wears his hat at a slight angle.

Francis' past clients include Vibe Magazine, Intrinsic Ent., Moloko+ Magazine, 2dArtist Magazine, Credit Card Finder, and Push LLC. He has been published in several publications, including Spectrum 14, 15, 16, Totoro Forest Project Book, Dolor 3, Mikosa 5, twenty2wo magazine #2, 3x3 Annual 5, and Society of Illustrators 51 & LA 47.
