Vigil Nights @ TAD ATX

Vigil_nights_art_posterSeptember 23, 2011: Vigil Games will be holding a free art show and concert entitled Vigil Nights on Friday, September 23. Though best known as a video game developer, the company is home to many gifted artists and musicians, over 30 of whom will be contributing their personal works and talent to the evening’s showcase.

The Vigil Nights art show will take place on Friday, September 23 from 7-10pm at The Art Department, 503 Neches Street in downtown Austin. It will feature works across a wide variety of media – sketches, painting, sculpture, stained glass, jewelry, video, and more – all showing what the talents at Vigil create when they’re not crafting top-quality video games. Thanks to printing partners Canvas Press, most of the pieces will be available to purchase at an affordable price, some for as little as $20. The Vigil Nights concert and after party will take place the same night, from 7pm–Midnight, at Club de Ville, 900 Red River Street in downtown Austin. In addition to getting to meet and greet the artists, attendees will be able to see a performance by the Vigil-manned band Hard Proof.

“Since Vigil Games is such an art-driven studio filled with so many prodigiously talented people, we wanted to create an event where everyone could display what they come up with outside of work,” said John Mueller, Studio Art Director for Vigil Games. “I think everyone who comes to the gallery will be blown away by the diversity and beauty of the pieces on display.” Admission is free to Vigil Nights, and both the art show and the concert are open to the public. However, you must be 21 years of age or older to enter Club de Ville.
