ENT304 | Industry A | Wed | 9Am-12pmInstructorAlex BradyCOURSE DESCRIPTIONThis studio class exposes students to the visual grammar of 3D form design, as well as hard surface and organic design method and tools. Students will focus on designing props, vehicles, weapons and items using the standard industry tools of Photoshop, Google Sketch-up, and traditional media. Learning ObjectivesKey objectives are focused on students gaining a stronger understanding of the tools required for industrial design work, as well as the process used to do so. Student objectives include learning both organic and hard surface design language, and understanding how to work with easily modifiable 3D block mesh in order to create the final designs with digital painting tools. Learning OutcomesThe knowledge presented allows students to create production ready visual and industrial design work, with the methods the industry uses worldwide. Students also learn about surface properties, and 3d modeling language required for later production. Course RequirementsStudents will be issued a syllabus that will list the goals, projected outcomes, grading system, and any other resources the instructor deems necessary. All enrolled students must have completed both Foundations A and B. |
All TAD classes include live demonstrations, thought provoking lectures, relevant presentations, instructor and peer feedback and critique, with a conscious effort made for content appropriate for artists of all skill levels and trades, and applicable to the freelance artist as well as the corporate visual communicator.
All TAD classes are streamed live and then available 24 hours a day to students On Demand, enabling a fully flexible schedule for viewing the classes and getting the direct and personal feedback required to be successful. Live classes are scheduled according to Central Standard Time (CST), adjusted for Daylight Savings Time (CDT) during the summer months.
