COURSE DESCRIPTION

In the Portfolio class, students will be assigned instructors whose experience most closely match the direction of the students work. Students have the option of taking up to six hours of electives and reducing the number of portfolio hours. The final semester of the Illustration track focuses on the development of the exit portfolio based on the student’s individual point of view.

Learning Objectives

Students are taught to research and identify industries that they wish to direct their work, as well as to generate their own content. Emphasis is placed on student cognitive skill development in establishing personal parameters and work ethic.

Learning Outcomes

Students upon successful completion of this class will have a firm grasp on identifying the various markets to which their work is applicable. Through the creation of self-generated content they will continually feed their portfolio to remain in step with changing markets.

Course Requirements

Students will be issued a syllabus that will list the goals, projected outcomes, grading system, and any other resources the instructor deems necessary. All enrolled students must have completed Industry A.

All TAD classes include live demonstrations, thought provoking lectures, relevant presentations, instructor and peer feedback and critique, with a conscious effort made for content appropriate for artists of all skill levels and trades, and applicable to the freelance artist as well as the corporate visual communicator.

All TAD classes are streamed live and then available 24 hours a day to students On Demand, enabling a fully flexible schedule for viewing the classes and getting the direct and personal feedback required to be successful. Live classes are scheduled according to Central Standard Time (CST), adjusted for Daylight Savings Time (CDT) during the summer months.
