FIG402 | Industry B | Mon | 10Am-11:30pmInstructorJon FosterCOURSE DESCRIPTIONThis unique and in-depth class features nude and costumed models utilizing high quality photography with exceptional lighting. Continuing with the progress made in Figure Painting I, this class will shift emphasis to the tactile qualities of paint, establishing a dialogue with media and a more expressive use of materials. There will be greater integration of the figure into a composition and environment along with such considerations as the age and racial characteristics of the figures. Students will be able to see demonstrations, presentations and get feedback on their work both Live and On Demand, allowing for total schedule flexibility. Learning ObjectivesFocus will be placed on the expressive use of materials and paint quality. How one paints can accentuate the narrative content of a piece. Students will learn how to integrate the figure more solidly into a composition and an environment, while stress in the age and racial characteristics of the figures in the narrative. Learning OutcomesStudents will learn to place the figure in an environment, establishing a composition that enhances the emotional impact of the narrative content. Media, lighting and color become essential tools in creating a sense of verisimilitude. Course RequirementsStudents will be issued a syllabus that will list the goals, projected outcomes, grading system, and any other resources the instructor deems necessary. All enrolled students must have completed Industry A. |
All TAD classes include live demonstrations, thought provoking lectures, relevant presentations, instructor and peer feedback and critique, with a conscious effort made for content appropriate for artists of all skill levels and trades, and applicable to the freelance artist as well as the corporate visual communicator.
All TAD classes are streamed live and then available 24 hours a day to students On Demand, enabling a fully flexible schedule for viewing the classes and getting the direct and personal feedback required to be successful. Live classes are scheduled according to Central Standard Time (CST), adjusted for Daylight Savings Time (CDT) during the summer months.
