We cover a wide genre spectrum including science fiction, fantasy, horror, romance, comedy, action- adventure, film-noir, post-apocalyptic, steam-punk, anime and other styles to offer a broad knowledge base from which to design and develop content for global markets.This class also explores global pop culture across the world of entertainment media, to help students better understand how to develop content suitable for global markets. The concept of virality, and global distribution in entertainment and media is explored through research and exposure to online content. Learning ObjectivesClass objectives include learning core features of successful viral content and theory used by entertainment creators to reach and relate to the worldwide audience. Additional objectives help students improve empathy toward international cultural sensitivities and understand the differences between regional, niche, and global product traits in pop culture. In order to better understand how to create global entertainment with informed new vision, students focus on the path which contemporary international genre have taken to the present day. Key objectives are focused on students gaining a broad genre knowledge base from which to design and develop content which appeals to the global markets. Learning OutcomesStudents will gain a better understanding of why viral exposure occurs and traffic develops for entertainment online. Students obtain improved knowledge on the make-up of select pop culture hits from around the world, in order to apply those traits to their own content creation practices. Course RequirementsStudents will be issued a syllabus that will list the goals, projected outcomes, grading system, and any other resources the instructor deems necessary. All enrolled students must have completed both Foundations A and B. |
All TAD classes include live demonstrations, thought provoking lectures, relevant presentations, instructor and peer feedback and critique, with a conscious effort made for content appropriate for artists of all skill levels and trades, and applicable to the freelance artist as well as the corporate visual communicator.
All TAD classes are streamed live and then available 24 hours a day to students On Demand, enabling a fully flexible schedule for viewing the classes and getting the direct and personal feedback required to be successful. Live classes are scheduled according to Central Standard Time (CST), adjusted for Daylight Savings Time (CDT) during the summer months.
